What is CrossFit?

By definition CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program based on constantly varied (never the same), functional movements (no bicep curls done here) at a high intensity (you will be breathing heavy).  CrossFit is done in a group setting at CrossFit Sting.  Everyone will complete the same “workout of the day” or “WOD”.  It will just be modified or scaled to meet each athletes level of ability.  The community that sweats together stays together.

I have seen and heard how expensive CrossFit is, why is that?

CrossFit should be compared to personal training.  One on one personal training and even group personal training can run up to $50 a session.  CrossFit is significantly less than your traditional personal training.  If you look at the monthly fees for unlimited CrossFit memberships and divide that by the number of classes per month it can be as low as 5-10 dollars a class.  So why don’t we just charge people that rate and let them come whenever they want?  That’s easy, just coming every now and then when you feel like it or like the workout for the day will not get results.  CrossFit Sting offers a free introductory class and a free week of classes following your intro class to see if CrossFit is a good fit for you.  Come in and decide for yourself before making the best investment of your life for your health and well-being.

I’ve heard about these crazy workouts and seen pictures on Facebook of people I know doing CrossFit, I can’t do that!?

Yes, yes you can!  The beauty of CrossFit is that is can be adjusted (scaled) for everyone.   You can’t do a pull up?  No worries, we have a lot of ways to scale those using resistance bands or doing jumping pull ups.  You have an injury?  No worries, our coaches are trained to modify for this too.  You say you are too old?  Nonsense, age is just a number and CrossFit will make you feel like a teenager again.  CROSSFIT IS FOR EVERYONE!
